Christmas 2025: Rejoice in the Lord
Words we most often associate with Christmas are light, hope, peace, joy and love. Of these the word that resonates with most people of all ages and backgrounds is joy. Many traditional Christmas Carols and modern songs are either explicitly about joy or have the theme of joy. Galatians 4: 4-7 beautifully summarises God’s saving work to bring us into relationship with Him:
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[b] Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c] Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”
Every aspect of these verses enables us to rejoice in the Lord, undergirded by His perfect love. We’ll consider these verses this Christmas to deepen our knowledge, love, gratitude and service to our eternal God. Over the past few years, we’ve read through the Bible, so, please reflect on each portion of Scripture and related theme, noting down the portions of Scripture from Old and New Testament, and history, which support these themes, so we can share and learn together. I would greatly appreciate your prayers as I seek to hear from the Lord what He wants us to learn and how He wants us to live for His glory. Thank you & God Bless, Kumar
