The Book of Hebrews

The danger of falling away from the faith made it necessary for the writer,

possibly Barnabas, to repeatedly warn Jewish background believer to remain

firm in their faith. His deep pastoral concern led him to interrupt his theological

teaching with pastoral exhortations. Having given them a stark warning that it’s

impossible for those who fall away to return to the Lord, he follows up with a

word of encouragement before he returns to teaching them about the high

priesthood of the Lord Jesus. We’ll consider this before Christmas.
